I don't know how you found this page, but this function has been deprecated! Now you just use the $alert function
Creates a customized alert that is sent to you when a new post is made by a specific user.
If at any point you would like to cancel the creation of an alert, simply type CANCEL after the bot has asked you a question.
Only put the username when adding the alert. Do NOT add u/
$ualert
What user would you like to be alerted to? **Only put the username here. Do NOT add u/ How would you like this sent? For Email type E | For @mention type A Please input the email you would like to send the notification to: Setting Up Alert. You may receive multiple alerts for results already in the sub. Alert Added!
There are 2 types of alerts. An email alert, and an @mention in discord.
To set up a text notification, you need to use the email alert option. Look up your “phone number text email”
9318675309@vtext.com
This will send a text message to 931-867-5309 with a Verizon Wireless Carrier.
To make sure you get the notification, add charlitabot@charlitavonnotaman.com to your contacts.
Change the ringtone of that contact to something that will remind you that it is important. Charlita uses his “Incoming Call” ringtone as it will wake him up.
Make sure the notification OVERRIDES “Do Not Disturb” settings if you use it.
In line commands make the bot much faster to use. Instead of going through the entire process of setting up the alert, you can input 1* command and be done with it.
* Certain use of in-line commands, or improper use, will force the bot to ask you further questions.
